OpenAI partners with PwC to build AI agents for CFOs

PwC stated that its collaboration with OpenAI focuses on building "real-world applications, not just theoretical designs."
PwC said in the press release: "For example, PwC and OpenAI are building a procurement agent within OpenAI's finance organization and applying these learnings to other agents in core finance processes. This hands-on model aims to accelerate innovation, validate the value of an AI-native finance function within OpenAI, and continuously improve products based on experience."
The press release also mentioned that other agents will handle tasks such as accelerating contract review, performing risk assessments, speeding up closing activities, streamlining reporting, and providing customized dashboards.
In a separate announcement, OpenAI said its finance department will serve as the program's"Customer Zero", testing "enterprise-grade workflows, governance models, runtime controls, and human-machine collaboration patterns."
OpenAI stated: "OpenAI is already applying AI agents in its own finance department, using tools such as ChatGPT and Codex to support workflows in investor relations, treasury, tax, reporting, corporate development, and contract review. Now, PwC and OpenAI are building on these experiences to help other CFOs apply AI agents within their organizations."
